The 1947 Sustainer Program

After World War II, an enormous number of veterans pursued college degrees through the GI Bill of that era. This demand prompted the Florida legislature to convert the Florida State College for Women to coeducational Florida State University. In other words, veterans were instrumental to the founding of our distinguished university!

For $19.47 per month (or a monthly amount of your choosing), you can help elevate Florida State’s nationally renowned programs of student-veteran support – as well as its proud veterans heritage – at an amount that salutes the year that forever changed Florida State’s student body.

The 1947 Sustainer Program demonstrates the power of consistent support, as well as the enduring impact of donations made month to month, year by year, decade after decade.

Your gift also solidifies your connection to the Veterans Alliance – the umbrella for all things veteran at FSU – which prioritizes the transition, retention, and graduation of veteran/military students.

Donations to the Veterans Alliance – whether single or sustaining gifts – help initiate, cultivate, and sustain relationships between these students and the greater campus community.

Thank you for considering a gift in support of current and former military students at Florida State, and for maintaining the university’s reputation as a national leader in veteran support and success.
