The Jane Addams Fund

The Jane Addams Fund honors the legacy of Jane Addams, the recognized founder of social work in the U.S. and the first American woman to win the Nobel Peace Prize. This fund supports College of Social Work students facing urgent financial challenges that threaten their academic success. When other emergency resources fall short, the fund steps in to help, having previously assisted students recovering from natural disasters, health emergencies and family crises. The Dean of the College of Social Work, in consultation with faculty and staff, decides how the funds are awarded.
