Walkway Bricks
The College of Music’s establishment as one of the nation’s premiere music colleges builds on generations of dedicated students, faculty and patrons. Between Housewright and Kuersteiner Music Buildings, personalized bricks celebrate this rich history by paying tribute to graduates, faculty, and friends in walkways adjacent to the Callaway Courtyard. These commemorative bricks support the College of Music while helping to pave the way for the future of musical education – a fitting legacy to those honored by the inscriptions.
Performance Hall Seat Plaque
Ruby Diamond Concert Hall
Located on the first floor of the Westcott building, this 1,172-seat hall is named for a generous benefactor and graduate of the Florida State College for Women. A $35 million renovation of the hall, completed in 2010, established Ruby Diamond Concert Hall as the premiere performance venue for the Florida State University, the College of Music and community partners.
Opperman Music Hall
Opperman Music Hall, a 437-seat concert hall in the Kuersteiner Building, is named for Ella Scoble Opperman, who served as the first Dean of Music from 1911 to 1944. This performance space is frequently utilized for concerts including chamber ensembles and band concerts, solo recitals and opera. Music faculty, students, alumni and patrons have appreciated the hall’s intimate size, beautiful acoustics and storied history for generations.
